Fortunately for you, we have experience repairing gutter cracks before they result in worse damage. We'll begin by locating the crack, and then sizing up the hole or damage. For small cracks or leaking joints, we'll apply a bead of silicon to both sides in order to seal it and keep water in. If the hole is bigger, we'll move on to roofing cement. We apply a hefty coat over the hole or crack, and let it dry before applying a second coat if needed.

Now if the hole is really big, we'll either apply a patch or simply replace that section. A gutter patch is a simple piece of sheet metal that has been coated with asphalt roofing cement on one side. This is then placed over the hole, and another coat of roofing cement is laid over the other side.

If your rain gutter is completely snapped in half and dangling by a thread, more extensive measures will be taken. In this case we'll go ahead and cut out the broken section, and after measuring it, we'll replace it with a new piece. This is slid into place, ensuring that the slope is right and the joints are correctly assembled, and then we'll silicone and seal any cracks and gaps. We may oftentimes attach a new bracket or two in order to support the repair as well.

Repairing Rain Gutters In Logan UT With The Wrong Slope
If your rain gutters appears to be sagging or seems to consistently overflow in the same location, the slope of your gutter may be off. Your gutter needs to descend at least a 1/4" every 10 feet or so, and over time brackets may loosen and metal may bend, which can oftentimes throw off this balance. However, our Cache Valley rain gutter repair team is ready to fine tune and adjust your gutters so they constantly slope downhill.

We begin by finding any areas that need to be repaired. Rain gutters that are no longer correctly sloped can be easily spotted by checking the insides for standing water or water marks, or simply using a level. Once these areas have been found, we go ahead and either re-seat any brackets so the roof gutter is sitting correctly, or we'll install new hangers. Once we've finishing covering each area of your Logan home or business, we'll finish by spraying water down the gutter, ensuring that none is left standing or pooling in the repaired areas.

Repairing Cache Valley Gutter Downspouts

If your downspout has become loose, or even if water is unnecessarily pooling up underneath, we have solutions. Spouts will often separate if they become plugged or clogged. We'll go ahead and clear the plug and then proceed to reattach any joints. In addition, we'll use sheet metal screws to ensure these pieces are firmly fastened together.

If you seem to have an unnecessary amount of water pooling up underneath your downspout, we can help with that to. The solution is often as simple as attaching a hose that runs out towards your lawn and away from your home. However, you may not like the look of that, and in that case we'll go ahead and either run a pipe into the ground and away from your home, or use a device called an automatic recoiling downspout. This downspout simply uncoils when filled with water and drains out into your lawn, but once empty folds up neatly into a tight bundle.

  • Cracks, Holes, or Rust - These can often be fixed with proper sealant and even a patch, but if your gutters are riddled with signs of these they may need to be replaced!
  • Broken Brackets - Brackets and fasteners help keep everything level, but if they're broken you may need a professional to come out and fix the old pieces or reinstall new ones.
  • Peeling Paint - If the painted siding surrounding your home is flaking, this is often a sign of water damage. This indicates that your gutters have been overflowing for some time now and that the sections directly overhead will need to be fixed.
  • Separations - If your gutters aren't tied together in one continuous line, water is bound to find its way out. Our crew will use fasteners and adhesive to keep pieces tightly together.  If they're pulling away from the roof itself, this can often be a sign that your fascia is rotting and that it will need to be replaced along with the gutters.
  • Puddles and Eroded Landscaping - If you notice erosion or puddles forming in your flower beds, you may to observe the area during the next rainstorm to see if your gutters are causing the problem.
  • Sagging - If your rain gutters are sagging, this often means that a proper pitch has not been maintained and that spills are going to occur as these dipping sections fill up. Oftentimes a bracket or fastener can fix this problem and realign the proper slope.

Can you Replace My Gutters?

We generally begin by examining the gutters surrounding your home, and then identify sections that will need to be completely redone. Our rain gutter replacement crew will then remove any broken pieces, save good ones if possible, and then install the new materials. Do You guys repair downspouts and gutter guards as well?
We do! In addition to rain gutter repair near Logan Utah, we can also work on and fix your downspouts and gutter guards! When it comes to your downspout, most problems happen when a clog or plug occurs. We'll go ahead and make sure that it's cleared out, and then proceed to tighten up any loose seams or brackets.

Gutter guards are great tools that help keep leaves, twigs, and other debris from falling into and blocking your gutters. Occasionally these can dent or become loose. Our team will go ahead and reattach your gutter guards or do our best to remove the dent and damage. If they're bent beyond repair, we'll go ahead and get new ones that can replace the old piece.
What are Your Prices?
Gutter repair costs often depend on the type of project we're dealing with, the height of your home, the severity of the damage, and the types of materials you'd like to use during the process. However, you should generally expect to be paying between $10-$25 per foot for repairs. This means, that on average, most of our clients pay around $170 if their home is only one story, while a two story building can cost upwards of $330. Gutter repair costs also tend to rise if you have a seamless system installed. These tend to take more time, materials, and skill than other systems.
